NBCRNA Professional Practice Survey (PPA)
NBCRNA Message From Your Region 7 Director
In response to our NBCRNA Continuous Professional Certification (CPC) Program launched at the recent AANA Annual meeting in Boston and the start of the Professional Practice Survey (PPA), we would like to communicate the following:
CPC Program
- The CPC Program is announced on the NBCRNA homepage (www.nbcrna.com) with a link to the one-page description of the components.
- All questions should be directed to recertification@nbcrna.com email address.
- The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are being developed and will be posted during the week of August 21st.
- The link to the CPC Program survey will go live September 6th and extend through November 14th 2011.
- The NBCRNA will develop a “CPC State Tool Kit” after the CPC program components are finalized following the January NBCRNA 2012 Board of Directors meeting.
Professional Practice Analysis
- The NBCRNA is conducting a Professional Practice Analysis survey for content validity on the National Certification Examination.
- This survey will define the framework for the National Certification Examination (NCE) for several years to come to ensure the currency and relevance of the examination.
- The survey invitation was sent this week from our Castle Worldwide consultants.
- The PPA Survey is open for participation until September 12, 2011.
- A link is available on the NBCRNA homepage (www.nbcrna.com) to request to participate in this important survey.
The NBCRNA would like to communicate the following information about the Proposed CPC Program based on common requests and questions.
- The NBCRNA has created a blog to allow nurse anesthetists and other stakeholders to submit questions and comments to be answered publicly by the NBCRNA Board of Directors and staff. The link is nbcrna.tumblr.com.
- The Citizens Advocacy Center (CAC) has been serving the public by increasing awareness in continuing competency standards and enhancing accountability of health credentialing entities. The CAC has provided permission for the NBCRNA to post 5 documents related to their work related to continuing competence on the NBCRNA website on the Recertification page.
- The NBCRNA will be sending a mailing to all certified registered nurse anesthetists in the next two weeks about the CPC Program and how to submit feedback during the public comment period September 6 – November 14, 2011.
- It is essential to communicate that the draft of the CPC Program is PROPOSED – all suggestions and concerns will be reviewed by the NBCRNA board prior to finalization.
- The NBCRNA Bylaws will be posted on the NBCRNA website this week.
- The NBCRNA will provide a representative to speak about the Proposed CPC Program at state and other regional meetings based on availability. All requests should be directed to nbcrnapresentations@nbcrna.com.
Thank you!
