General Policies

Abstract submissions will be eligible for either a general session or a concurrent breakout session:

  • By submitting, and if selected to present, you agree to register and attend the 2026 FANA Annual Meeting. Presenting authors must attend in order to present. There will be no virtual options.
  • Session selection may be on any given event day (Unless submitted with specific request to the Program Committee). Sessions are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
  • Abstracts cannot be updated after the final deadline of 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Please be sure to give yourself enough time to complete the entire submission process in our portal before the deadline, as we will be unable to grant extensions due to programmatic scheduling.

Topic Suggestions

We welcome submissions across a variety of areas, including:

- Pharmacology & Medications: new drugs, updates, clinical applications
- Regional Anesthesia & Pain: nerve blocks, ultrasound-guided techniques, pain management
- Airway & Crisis Management: difficult airway, emergencies, OR crisis scenarios
- Special Populations: OB, pediatrics, cardiac, neuro, and high-risk patients
- Clinical Practice & Techniques: hands-on workshops, advanced skills, new technologies
- Practice Models & Business: independent practice, finance, billing, and operations
- Education & Professional Development: student topics, mentorship, leadership
- AI & Innovation: AI, digital tools, and emerging technologies in anesthesia
- Policy & Advocacy: legislation, health equity, and healthcare systems
- Wellness & Workforce: burnout, career transitions, workforce trends
- General / Other: communication, fundamentals, and broad anesthesia updates

These are suggested areas of interest—submissions on all relevant topics are encouraged.
